NatWest CricketForce 2011 - Weekend 9/10 April
We’ve been telling you about it for weeks – now it’s here.
Whilst the faithful few have already been hard at it getting the ground ready, the NatWestForce weekend provides the opportunity for you all to come down and help. We will be focusing on both the ground and pavilion
· Pavilion - Mainly the work involves a lot of painting, not complicated, lots of walls and ceilings. You need to bring dustsheets, bucket, roller, tray and brushes for emulsion – we’ll provide all the paint etc
· Ground - We have embarked on a long term repair/rejuvenation of the outfield. At this stage, a lot of repair work and weed killing has taken place. On the NatWest weekend we will be spreading seed, fertiliser and soil over a sizeable area. You need to bring garden rakes, plus a spade and wheelbarrow would be good if you have one
So Saturday Morning 9.00 am start and for the keener amongst you, attached is a job list, so you can sign up for specific tasks – just let me know.
Oh and as a reward for a hard working day, we'll be returning to The Red on Saturday night for a few drinks .... and of course a curry later
Pre-season Friendly Fixtures
Now that indorr nets have finished, hopefully we will have a couple of friendlies in April (16 & 23) before the league starts. We are still working on them as we can’t play them at home this year. We will confirm details take availabilities for these games at the ground on NatWest weekend
League Fixtures
1st XI fixtures start on 30 April, 2nd XI fixtures start a week later, 7 May. You need to let us know availability (also happy to take this at Natwest weekend)
Tour News (2/3/4 September)
It may seem along way off, but very soon we’ll need to know who’s going. Separate note to follow shortly but check out the dates
I’m sure we’re all looking forward to a good season, so let’s get it off to a good start by getting the ground ready to go - be there next weekend please.
